Pomerol & St-Emilion 1998

Our thanks to Carol Cunningham for a wonderful tasting of wines from Catalunya. We now looked at Bordeaux, having previously tasted the 1995 vintage in November 2008 and then the 1996 vintage last year.  This year we examined the 1998 Right Bank wines, with the critical consensus being that this region performed particularly well in that vintage.  The tasting was presented by Pat Carroll and Sandra Mooney, who put together an exciting range of ten wines, with five each from Pomerol and St-Emilion.

Pomerol: Ch. Beauregard, Ch. Latour-à-Pomerol, Ch. La Conseillante, Ch. L’Evangile, Clos l’Eglise.

St-Emilion: Ch. La Couspaude, Ch. Beau-Séjour-Bécot, Ch. Tertre Roteboeuf, Ch. Valandraud, Ch. Angélus, Ch. Cheval Blanc.
