Barsac & Sauternes 2001

This tasting could have been called ‘Sugar and Spice and all things nice’.

It took place on 11 February 2011 in the Morgan Hotel, Fleet Street, Dublin 2, and featured the wines of the 2001 vintage in Sauternes and Barsac, which has been critically acclaimed as one of the greatest for the region in the last twenty years. Whilst the wines were still on the young side, it afforded an opportunity to look at them at this stage with a view to hopefully revisiting them in the future. Eight wines were presented by Jonathan Tonge.
